Show the Code Traininig: Bidrectional Word Mapping with The Speech Sound Code. Show the Phonemes and Graphemes for EVERY word.
What if we could support speech sound processing earlier?
What if we could make reading and spelling easier for all brains?
What if we could simply show the speech to print code?

Birth to Four: Guided Giftedness
Birth to Four: Guided Giftedness
As a former owner-manager of nurseries rated Outstanding by OFSTED, and later appointed by the UK government as an OFSTED Inspector, I have seen first-hand that the first few years of life are a period of extraordinary brain development. This unique experience led me to develop the concept of Birth to Four Guided Giftedness.
For the first time, I am sharing online what I have previously shared only in teacher training: how adults can support communication, speech, reading and spelling from birth, and even during pregnancy. I can identify children who may be at risk of reading and spelling difficulties as early as six months, but I can also recognise children with exceptional, untapped potential.
When parents understand how to Show the Code and support bidirectional word mapping from birth, children can develop confidence with speech and print in ways often assumed to be possible only much later, with some children becoming confident readers by the age of two or three. We can also overcome dyslexia risk.

When parents Show the Code from birth, using Phonemies® to reveal the sound value of Speech Sound Pics® (graphemes), children develop communication, reading and spelling alongside their speech. This gives very young children access to an opaque orthography in a way that has previously not been possible.
Please complete the Foundation Course before enrolling in this course.

We Show the Code™ across all of our courses, showing which letters are graphemes and their sound values using Phonemies® (Phonetic Symbols for Kids). This is the foundation of reading and spelling and helps unlock self-teaching. It is why the Foundation Course is a prerequisite for all courses.
With the exception of MySpeekie®, where the primary purpose is AAC and communication, the core purpose of our courses is the same: to help every child start self-teaching reading and spelling as quickly and easily as possible.
How we achieve that will look very different depending on the child, their stage of development, what they already know and the context in which they are learning.
That might mean working with a toddler who already has strong phonemic awareness, supporting 25 children working at different stages in a Reception classroom, helping a child with an EHCP who has struggled with synthetic phonics, or supporting an older child with dyslexia who is unable to keep up with age-related reading and spelling demands.
The destination is the same: children who have developed the word-mapping skills they need to become self-teaching readers and spellers, so that they can work out unfamiliar words, check their mapping when they need to, and retain new words for future reading and spelling.
We want every child to reach that point as quickly and easily as possible, with as much explicit instruction as they need, and no more.
